Radiohead Announce International Release Date For Normal In Rainbows CD

Radiohead
Perhaps stinging from the comScore report speculating that their pay-what-you-want scheme for the MP3 download version of In Rainbows shook quarters from the pockets of less than 40 per cent of downloaders, Radiohead have revealed a release date for the "normal" CD version of the album. In Rainbows, the non-deluxe, non-superfan commoner version, will come out internationally on Dec. 31. A single for the song "Jigsaw Falling Into Place" is expected on Jan. 14. These dates don't apply to North America. Imagine all those hot, heavy New Year's Eve parties that'll get completely bad-vibed by the over-enthused dork who tries to commandeer the stereo with that hot disc. For the record, Radiohead's people are poo-pooing comScore's study, saying their info is "wholly inaccurate" and that it "in no way reflect definitive market intelligence or, indeed, the true success of the project." A reissue-repackage box set Radiohead's old albums comes out on Dec 10. The "discbox" double-CD, double-vinyl version of In Rainbows — also known as the "second year at college" box — will be delivered to purchasers on or before Dec. 3.
