Avril Lavigne Announces Canadian Tour Dates

Sum 41 may have had to cancel their tour due to Deryck Whibley's back injury, but there's at least some good tour news coming out of the Whibley/Lavigne household these days.
Hot on the heels of her world's best-selling pop/rock female artist and Canada's best-selling artist nods at the 2007 World Music Awards this past Sunday in Monaco, Avril Lavigne has announced a North American Tour for 2008.
"I can't wait to get back out on the road!" says Lavigne."I have the most fun when I am performing for the fans. I think that energy comes through in my live show."
In support of her ridiculously successful third album, The Best Damn Thing, the creatively named "Best Damn Tour" kicks off in Victoria on March 5. From there, our nation's punk princess and her special guests, Boys Like Girls, will paint the town plaid through western Canada and the prairies. After a few dates in border towns Stateside, she'll return to Ontario for a handful of shows before wrapping things up back in the U.S.A.
As of now, there are no eastern Canadian shows on the tour, but additional dates are expected to be revealed soon, so all hope is not lost St. John's. Tickets go on sale starting November 17.
If you're really eager, you can also go to www.avrillavigne.com and click on the "fan club" icon to register for special access to pre-sale tickets.
