White Stripes Working On New Songs/Video

The White Stripes

The White Stripes are back at work after canceling their fall tour due to drummer Meg White's acute anxiety. According to an announcement on the band's website, the duo have just finished recording three original songs and one "unique" new version of a track off this year's Icky Thump.

In addition to the new songs the band have also "just filmed an exciting new video." No word on what track the video was shot for, nor when fans can expect to hear the new recordings, although the post mentioned that more details would be made available soon via the official website.

Jack White will also be making a cameo as Elvis in Judd Apatow's biopic-spoof Walk Hard, which hits theatres in December.

Canadian Stripes fans managed to get some quality Jack and Meg earlier this summer during the band's tour across all of Canada's provinces and territories. The Stripes did numerous guerilla-style street performances alongside their big-venue shows in various cities. Among the surprises were a half-hour set at a tiny Halifax billiard's hall, performances aboard a city bus in Winnipeg, at a downtown Toronto YMCA and outside at Whitehorse's tiny LePage Park.
