John Mayer To Focus On Food Blogging

Musician and celebrity blogger John Mayer has announced a new focus for future updates — food. That's right, visit Mayer's official blog, and you can not only read about, but actually see — through the magic of digital photography — what the Grammy-winning artist is eating.
In an effort to prevent those rabid tabloid journalists from reprinting photos of his greasy deep-fried diet, which according to the star represent the "most personal facet" of his life, Mayer has employed the clever gimmick of stamping all photos with a watermark. A practice we're sure will stop absolutely no one from reposting the images on their own blog in order to rehash, in excess, Mayer's own posting.
"The tabloids and entertainment news shows will froth at the mouth, wanting to grant this unprecedented level of access to the world," Mayer explains. "I want to be able to thoughtfully control my image. Of my food."
Good luck on that.
Images of this past weekend's fare, which includes a veggie burger with fries, beer-battered onion rings and taco salad, are most likely whizzing around the blogosphere already.
Mayer is, of course, not the first rock star to grant fans access to his diet. Chart's own Nardwuar The Human Serviette has been known to keep detailed accounts of the elements of his diet while touring with his band The Evaporators and submit them in lieu of his monthly column. In fact, the Serviette has also documented his food vices in song, namely the track "Addicted To Cheese" from the 'Vaps Ripple Rock album.
Formerly, Mayer's blog has focused on such weighty issues as politics and environmental health. Frankly, we'll find what he's eating to be vastly more interesting.
