Deryck Whibley's Weak Back Ends Strength In Numbers Tour Early

A back injury suffered by Sum 41 singer/guitarist Deryck Whibley has forced the band to put an early end to their Strength In Numbers Tour with Finger Eleven and Die Mannequin, as well as their Wednesday night performance at the CASBY Awards show at Toronto's Kool Haus.
Whibley apparently hurt his back while on the tour, but there's been no official word on how the injury happened. He's said to have a herniated disc and will be unable to walk for five to six weeks. At least he'll have Avril Lavigne's nursing skills at his service while he rests and recuperates at their Los Angeles home.
Sum 41's fourth album, Underclass Hero, debuted at #1 on SoundScan's Canadian sales chart in the week following its July 24 release. The LP also topped the chart in Japan and entered the top 10 in the U.S.
Promoter Live Nation says fans can have their tickets refunded at the point of purchase.
