Champion Live CD/DVD Coming Next Month

DJ Champion's popularity has exploded over the past year, and it's only bound to get bigger with MapleMusic Recordings/Saboteur's Nov. 13 release of a CD/DVD package titled Champion Et Ses G-Strings Live.
It was recorded at Montreal's Metropolis the same week that Champion's Chill 'Em All debut album was certified gold for selling 50,000 copies in Canada. The set includes full audio and video of the concert, which was shot with 12 cameras and features a 5.1 surround sound mix. The performance included two unreleased tracks, including a cover of "Feeling Good," which was popularized by Nina Simone.
The DVD also features a documentary on Champion's performance at The Montreal Jazz Festival and "Sign Language," a short tutorial on the hand gestures that Maxime Morin (DJ Champion's real name) uses to conduct his G-Strings.
Champion were named best live artist at the 2005 ADISQ Awards (Quebec's equivalent of the Junos), and their The Remix Album was nominated for a 2007 Juno.
