Nas Releasing Hits Package And Stirring Controversy With New Album Title

A collection of hits by rapper Nas, covering material from his 1994 Illmatic debut to 2004's Street's Disciple, will be released by Columbia on Nov. 6.
The compilation also includes the newly recorded "Surviving The Times" and "Less Than An Hour," which features Cee-Lo and was originally featured on the Rush Hour 3 soundtrack.
Nas announced at an Oct. 12 concert at New York City's Roseland Ballroom that he'll release the follow-up to last year's Hip-Hop Is Dead later this year for Def Jam. He said that it will be titled Nigga, which has drawn the ire of Jesse Jackson and the National Association For The Advancement Of Colored People.
But a Def Jam spokesperson said that the rapper doesn't have an album on its release schedule, and would be unlikely to issue a record with that title. Nas told the crowd at the New York show that he wanted to name his last album Nigga, but Def Jam made him change it.
