Bran Van 3000 Set To Return

Montreal music collective Bran Van 3000, fronted by jack-of-all-trades James Di Salvio, will finally release a new album called Rose on Oct. 30 after a six-year gap since the group released their second album, Discosis.
Lead single "Call Me (I'll Be Around Medley)" was released on Oct. 4. It samples The Spinners' R&B hit, "I'll Be Around."
Rose is a return of sorts to the original Bran Van 3000 crew from 1998's Glee album that spawned the hit "Drinking In L.A." Di Salvio, Sara Johnston, Stephane Moraille, Gary McKenzie, Nick Hynes, Liquid, Rob and Jayne Hill have all returned to the fold, but E.P. Bergen has permanently left the group. Fat Lip, Max-a-Million and Swanza made cameo appearances on the LP.
Di Salvio and Johnston co-produced the new record, which is supposed to carry a modern soul vibe.
Di Salvio has spent the past few years living the bohemian lifestyle and couch-surfing in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, Boston, New York and Montreal.
Rose was recorded at Depeche Mode's Los Angeles studio and Steve Vai's Hollywood studio.
