Help!, The Beatles' second feature film, will be released as a two-DVD set on Oct. 30 by Apple/EMI Music.

The movie follows the travails of the Fab Four after Ringo Starr takes possession of a "sacrificial ring" that he can't get off his finger. The band are chased around the world by religious cult members, a mad scientist and the London police. It's better than it sounds.

The 1965 film was directed by Richard Lester, who also directed The Beatles' first feature, A Hard Days Night. The movie features George Martin-produced Beatles favourites "Help!," "You're Going To Lose That Girl," "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away," "Ticket To Ride," "I Need You," "The Night Before" and "Another Girl."

Disc one features the original film digitally restored with a 5.1 Dolby soundtrack. The hour-long second disc features a 30-minute documentary about the making of the film, a missing scene, an in-depth look at the Help! restoration process, one Spanish and two American theatrical trailers, U.S. radio spots and interviews with Lester and cast and crew members.

In addition to a standard digipack, a deluxe version of the set will come with a reproduction of Lester's original annotated script, eight lobby cards, a poster and a 60-page book with rare photographs and production notes from the film. Both the deluxe and standard booklets feature an introduction by Lester and an appreciation by director Martin Scorsese.
