Perez Hilton Urges People To Boycott Britney And Buy Feist

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton is asking music fans to boycott pop mess-up Britney Spears and throw their support behind Canadian darling Feist.
Hilton is outraged that Spears' new "Gimme More" single is #1 on iTunes in the U.S. and posted on his website on Sunday that "buying her song is just feeding her addictions." He's also annoyed that Spears fans are buying multiple copies of the single, while Spears "proved with her disrespectful and half-assed performance at the VMAs, Britney does not care about her fans."
Hilton's advice: "Britney needs tough love! Britney needs a boycott!"
Hilton is trying to convince his readers to buy Feist's "1234" single off iTunes instead of "Gimme More" to help "dethrone" Spears.
"Not only does Feist deserve our support," he wrote, "but she is incredibly talented and an amazing singer/songwriter/performer, in stark contrast to Spears."
Though the world listened to Hilton this summer when he mistakenly claimed that Fidel Castro had died, it appears his clout only goes so far. Spears' single still has the top spot on iTunes in the U.S. this week, while Feist is at #4 despite her song's rising popularity due to its use in a new iPod commercial.
In Canada, however, "1234" is the top song. "Gimme More" doesn't rank in the top eight.
