Moby has completed work on his new and as-yet untitled studio album, which he says is more "electronic and dance-oriented" than his previous three efforts.
"i guess it's best described as an eclectic dance record," Moby wrote in a Sept. 25 journal entry on his website. "some fast songs. some slow songs. some atmospheric songs. some techno songs that sound like buildings falling down."
Moby says a single could be released later this fall, although the album isn't expected until February or March. The LP might also come with a little extra.
"i'd like to include a bonus disc with the next record, and i'd like the bonus disc to be comprised of one 75 minute long ambient piece of music," he writes. "now I just have to make this aforementioned 75 minute long piece of ambient music."
Moby recently issued a remix of "Extreme Ways (Bourne's Ultimatum)" as a digital download to coincide with the release of the Matt Damon picture, The Bourne Ultimatum. The song is heard during the film's closing credits.
Moby released his last studio effort, Hotel, in 2005. He's since released a greatest hits package titled Go, and a remixed version of that compilation was issued earlier this year.
