New Releases: Stars Open The Door To Their Bedroom

It seems kind of weird to be calling Stars' latest album a new release since it's been commercially available since July. But In Our Bedroom After The War is officially released on Tuesday, and for those five of you who patiently waited all this time to hear it, you're in luck — the hard copy comes with a bonus DVD. Come to think of it, that's likely to entice the iTunes buyers as well. Tricky, Stars, tricky.
Weakerthans fans have been waiting much longer. The seminal Winnipeg indie rockers haven't had an album out since 2003's Reconstruction Site (you may have read about this on ChartAttack last Thursday). The wait ends this week. Praise the Golden Boy. Anyway, the lengthy studio absence is probably why they've named their record Reunion Tour, despite the fact that they've been touring almost non-stop in the time between LPs. That's called irony, right?
Devendra Banhart used to pump out one or two records a year. His output has slowed significantly since 2005, but his tendency to warble hasn't, as evidenced by his new Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon album. If you live with a hippie, expect to smell something peculiar coming from under their door on Tuesday.
Oh, I almost forgot. There's this band called Foo Fighters. They apparently have kind of a following of sorts, so I should probably mention that they have a record called Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, which is also out this week. Apparently the singer used to drum for another band who people also liked. I get the feeling they could go places.
