Ahoy! British Sea Power EP Set To Shiver Your Timbers

British Sea Power

In honour of International Talk Like A Pirate Day, here's some British Sea Power news:

The Brighton, England rock band known for their unique stage props will digitally release an EP called Krankenhaus? via Rough Trade/World's Fair on Oct. 9. A CD version will come out on Nov. 20 with two bonus videos: a live version of "St. Louis" and "Water Tower." Material for the EP was recorded at Montreal's Hotel2Tango studio with producer (and former Arcade Fire drummer) Howard Bilerman and Godspeed You! Black Emperor/Silver Mt. Zion's Efrim Menuck.

"The title of the EP is Krankenhaus?, which is German for hospital," says BSP member Yan. "This could equally allude to the healing and/or life-saving qualities of indie rock music, or perhaps the vast quantities of pharmaceuticals associated with both of these.

"The green cross adorning the front could be the one used to locate a chemist's, or maybe a symbol of a new ecological religion. The answer is up to you."

BSP's next full-length isn't due until early next year, but they'll play some shows in the U.S. and U.K. in October and November.

Here are the songs on Krankenhaus?:

"Atom"
"Down On The Ground"
"Straight Down The Line"
"Hearing Aid"
"The Pelican"
