The Manvils Bring Strange Disaster To A City Near You

The Manvils

The Manvils have left their native Vancouver to hit the road and drive across Canada throughout September and October in support of their recently released Strange Disaster EP.

The Manvils — comprised of Mikey Manville on vocals and guitar, Mark Parry on lead guitar, Greg Buhr on bass and Jay Koenderman on drums — got their big break earlier this year when they starred as the band in Budweiser's national "Guitar Maker" commercial. They immediately took to the road with their self-described "unique blend of vintage blues and psychedelia, mixed with the bittersweet poetry of heartbreak" after the commercial became popular. They hit Toronto, New York and Los Angeles three times each this summer.

The follow-up to the quartet's earlier Buried Love LP was released by new Burnaby, B.C.-based label, Sandbag Records. Manville will release his Broken Arms solo debut via the Scratch-distributed Sandbag on Oct. 30.
