Gorillaz Dig Deep With D-Sides

Gorillaz

Gorillaz are combining unreleased demos, B-sides and rarities with a bonus disc of remixes for Virgin's Nov. 6 release of Gorillaz: D-Sides.

The virtual band are helmed by Blur frontman Damon Albarn, who started it with Jamie Hewlett, the co-creator of the comic book Tank Girl. The group are comprised of four animated members: 2D, Noodle, Russel and Murdoc.

Gorillaz: D-Sides will be the band's first album since 2005's Demon Days, which was nominated for five Grammy Awards and won for best pop collaboration with vocals for "Feel Good Inc." Their self-titled debut was released in 2001.

There are unconfirmed rumours that Albarn and Hewlett are working on a Gorillaz movie that they had previously scrapped in 2002 due to poor script quality. Albarn said in April that they were "trying to make a film next, starting in September hopefully."

Albarn last worked with Blur on 2003's Think Tank. Guitarist Graham Coxon, who left the group while recording the album, has now reconciled with the other members and they're considering making another record together.
