MV & EE Get Gone With The Golden Road

MV & EE

Less than a year after their last release, Matt Valentine and Erika Elder (a.k.a. MV & EE) return with yet another psychedelic rock/alternative folk record.

Gettin' Gone, due on Oct. 9 via Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore's Ecstatic Peace label, features instrumentation by The Golden Road. The Bummer Road accompanied the duo on their last album, Green Blues.

The Golden Road are made up of seven musicians and a dog named Zuma who reportedly played bells on the record. The humans are J. Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.) and John Moloney on drums, Willie Lane on guitar, Samara Lubelski and Ron Schneiderman on bass, Doc Dunn on pedal steel, resonator, bass, drums and vocals, and Luisa Reichenheim on harmonium.

Valentine handles acoustic and electric guitars, harmonica, bantar (which combines a banjo with a sitar), swarsangam, bass, octave divider bass, mellotron and vocals, while Elder contributes guitar, lap steel, bowed dulcimer, mandolin and vocals.

Valentine has released two solo albums for Ecstatic Peace: Glorious Group Therapy and Space Chanteys.
