Ska multi-tasker "Venice Shoreline" Chris Murray will return to Canada from his adopted California home this month to tour with Montreal ska/reggae group One Night Band.

One Night Band will do double-duty by playing their own set backing Murray, who may still be best known in Canada as the frontman for '90s ska band King Apparatus. Since moving south, he's collaborated as a musician with The Specials, Laurel Aitken and Prince Buster, produced the Planet Smashers and written songs for Hepcat, Neville Staple and Westbound Train. His latest album, Slackness, was recorded with New York City's The Slackers.

One Night Band's Way Back Home debut was released last year by Stomp, and this will be the septet's last Canadian tour before they enter the studio to record their second album. They'll play Transit in Terrebonne, Que. on Friday before heading off with Murray next week.
