Pete Doherty's Still Free, And Apparently Spending Time With Amy Winehouse

Pete Doherty's sentencing for drug possession charges and driving offences, which was supposed to happen on Tuesday, has been adjourned until Oct. 2.
The Babyshambles singer didn't make the court appearance because he apparently has checked into yet another rehabilitation facility to help him kick his drug problems. Doperty is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty in July to two driving offences and possessing crack cocaine, heroin, cannabis and ketamine.
The former Libertines member was arrested last month on suspicion of possessing drugs, but was released on a technicality.
Meanwhile, Britain's Sunday Mirror reports that Doperty was with singer Amy Winehouse, but fled the scene, last month when she had to be rushed to hospital after an apparent drug overdose.
"They had a meal and a few drinks," a source told the newspaper. "They took a cocktail of drugs called a speedball, it's a mixture of heroin and cocaine.
"She collapsed when they went back to her flat. Pete left because he didn't want any bad publicity. He didn't know how to deal with it and thought she was dying. She was foaming at the mouth and fitting — Pete had never seen anything like it."
After checking out of a rehab facility and staying in some London, England hotels, Winehouse and husband Blake Civil-Fielder went on vacation in St. Lucia. Photos of Winehouse have apparently revealed red sores and bruises on her arms, leading to speculation that she's been using heroin.
Winehouse has cancelled all of her North American concerts and has now pulled out of Tuesday night's Mercury Music Prize ceremony, where her Back To Black album is one of the 10 finalists in the running to be named the U.K.'s best album.
