Hang Out With The Deep Dark Woods

Saskatoon may be a prairie town, but look and listen hard enough and you'll find The Deep Dark Woods.
The quartet's second album, Hang Me Oh Hang Me, will be released by Black Hen Music on Sept. 11.
Singer/guitarist Ryan T. Boldt, guitarist Burke C. Barlow, bassist C.S. Mason and drummer Lucas Goetz blend country, rock and folk elements on the LP, which they recorded with Ross Nykiforuk (The Northern Pikes) at Saskatoon's Cosmic Pad Studios last winter. It was mixed by Steve Dawson (Kelly Joe Phelps, Jenny Whiteley).
"Big City Blues," "Redwood Forest" and the album's title track can be previewed on the group's MySpace page.
The Deep Dark Woods will tour across Canada with labelmate Shuyler Jansen in October and November, but also have these dates scheduled:
