Montreal's Hot Springs will erupt with their Volcano debut LP on Sept. 18.
The thrashy, psychedelic pop group will issue their album on their own DKD-affiliated Quire Records imprint after striking a deal with the Montreal company last month. Their 2005 EP, Rock Partouze, was self-released.
Singer/guitarist Giselle Webber writes the songs, which are filled out by guitarist Remy Nadeau-Aubin, drummer Anne Gauthier and bassist Frederic Sauve.
Volcano was produced by Bionic's Jonathan Cummins and engineered by The Besnard Lakes' Jace Lasek. It was recorded at Lasek's Breakglass studios in Montreal, with additional tracking done at The Pines studio with engineer David Bryant (Godspeed! You Black Emperor, Jackie O Motherfucker). The final tracking and mixing was done in Farnham, Quebec at La Petite Eglise, a former church and Masonic temple, with Mark Lawson (Arcade Fire, Final Fantasy).
Lead single "Headrush," "Cellophane," "Fog And The Horn" and "Annimystique" can be previewed on the band's MySpace page.
