Brian Byrne Goes More Country On Tailor Made

Brian Byrne

Former I Mother Earth frontman Brian Byrne has rediscovered his love of outlaw country music and southern rock and incorporated those influences on his second solo album, Tailor Made.

The follow-up to 2005's Tuesdays, Thursdays & If It Rains is due on Sept. 4 from Kindling Music. It was written almost entirely on the road and was co-produced by Byrne and engineer Lorne Hounsell. "Crazy" is the first single and video.

Byrne, who has earned East Coast Music Award and Canadian Radio Music Award nominations for his solo work, will launch the album in Regina as part of the Country Music Week activity leading up to the Canadian Country Music Awards on Sept. 10. The Newfoundland native's touring band features Bob Egan (Blue Rodeo, Wilco), Christian Tanna (I Mother Earth) and Gerry Finn (David Usher).

Byrne will play Lydia's in Saskatoon on Sept. 11 and Montebello Park in St. Catharines, Ont. as part of the annual Niagara Grape And Wine Festival on Sept. 29.
