Feist Wants To Breathe Life Into Robot

in
Feist

Feist has had enough of cyberspace, for now. The singer/songwriter/musician posted a hand-written message on her website that states she's taking it "offline (for a while)."

Why? We'll let her explain it.

"Because of my analogue mind and the fact(s) that I couldn't recognize myself in it, it was being mismanaged, it had been attacked by porn spammers, it wasn't beautiful and it played one song at you like a bad TV commercial as soon as you innocently entered. It was a robot with a paper mask of my face on it. In the meantime we're going to keep basic facts on MySpace (benign/neutral) and try to breath life into the robot. Ideas are welcome (write through MySpace). Honestly. Thanks, see you this fall."

Feist's The Reminder is one of 10 finalists for the 2007 Polaris Music Prize, which recognizes the best Canadian album of the past year. It will be awarded at a ceremony in Toronto on Sept. 24. She'll perform at the Osheaga Music And Arts Festival in Montreal on Sept. 8 and has shows scheduled in the U.S. and Europe through the rest of September and October.
