Melissa Auf Der Maur Going Out Of Her Mind With Upcoming Project

Melissa Auf Der Maur is still working on her upcoming album, but fans can get a glimpse into the upcoming OOOM: The Sound That No One Hears project through a new link on her website.
The project appears to have some connection to or association with the film Severed Ways: The Norse Discovery Of America. The link shows the word "OOOM" spelled out. But by clicking on each letter, one is led to different sections. One includes information on "Out Of Our Minds," a "concept fantasy world, spawned from sound" and created by the musician.
According to the link, the story revolves around three different narratives during three different time periods. A rather bizarre video presented by MadM Fantasy and Heathen Films appears to include Auf Der Maur in a brief snippet. The video also shows trees being cut down and bleeding as a Norse or Viking character roams through the forest.
"Shadowing psychedelic rock films/albums of the past, this is a fantasy noise experiment that fills, unavoidably, a void in today's musical landscape," the message continues. "OOOM is a search for refuge from an unknown enemy. Is a place where healing powers are cloaked from our view and reverse ecowarriors of the 19th century shred their valley of ancient trees. All scenes/sounds exist in parallel worlds."
It's unknown if Auf Der Maur composed music for the project, but song snippets could be heard on different pages.
The project, slated to be released either in late 2007 or early 2008, will be the first from Auf Der Maur since releasing her self-titled debut album in 2004. She previously played with Hole and The Smashing Pumpkins.
