Amy Winehouse may have to throw her biggest hit out the window, but it could save her life. The talented but troubled singer is going to rehab.

According to the U.K.'s Mirror newspaper, Winehouse and husband Blake Fielder-Civil flew from London, England to an undisclosed treatment centre in the U.S. on the weekend. The 23-year-old "Rehab" singer was taken to hospital last week after allegedly ingesting a potentially deadly mixture of heroin, ecstasy, cocaine, ketamine (a horse tranquilizer) and alcohol. She was treated and released, and checked into a hotel to rest as per a doctor's order.

But Winehouse's best friend, Juliette Ashby, is said to have caught the recently married couple smoking heroin in their suite on Friday night. The parents of both Winehouse and Fielder-Civil rushed to the hotel to try and stage an intervention, which apparently turned heated and resulted in shouting, threats, tears and the two fathers almost coming to blows. According to the Mirror's source, Winehouse and Fielder-Civil both admitted to taking cocaine and heroin, but denied injecting the latter and stripped to show that they had no track marks.

"It was only when Amy saw her family falling apart that she realised she had to do something," the Mirror was told by an unnamed source. "She confessed that she and Blake had drug problems and had to have treatment together."

Mitch Winehouse is also said to have demanded that his 25-year-old son-in-law be fitted with an implant to curb his drug-taking. He refused, but agreed to join his rail-thin wife in a drug counselling and treatment program.

While receiving treatment, the couple have agreed to have their cell phones confiscated and to have no contact with the outside world. Winehouse has also agreed to put her career on hold despite her desire to get back on the road and perform. She was scheduled to play the U.K.'s V Festival this weekend.

Winehouse has earned numerous accolades for her Back To Black album, which came out in the U.K. last year and in North America early this year, but sadly has become at least as well-known for her debauchery as for her music.
