Van Halen Feature Old And New Member For New Tour

A Van Halen reunion tour featuring original singer David Lee Roth has been threatened for quite a while, but it was finally officially announced at a Los Angeles media conference on Monday.
Drummer Alex Van Halen, guitarist Eddie Van Halen and his son Wolfgang (who replaces bassist Michael Anthony, who's been ostracized since he started playing with another former VH singer, Sammy Hagar) will provide the music behind Roth, who left the band after their 1984 album and tour.
The original Van Halen lineup formed in 1974 and released six albums from 1978 to 1984. It's generally considered to be the prime period for the band, and the shows are likely to focus heavily on songs from that era.
Tickets to see this year's Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductees will go on sale on Saturday at 10 a.m. and will be available through Ticketmaster and the tour promoter, Live Nation.
Here are Van Halen's Canadian dates:
Oct. 7 Toronto, ON @ Air Canada Centre
Dec. 5 Vancouver, BC @ General Motors Place
Dec. 9 Edmonton, AB @ Rexall Place
Dec. 11 Calgary, AB @ Pengrowth Saddledome
