Van Halen To Tour With David Lee Roth

According to a report on Billboard.com, classic rockers Van Halen will finally reunite with original singer David Lee Roth for a tour that's set to begin in October.
The announcement is expected to made official next week at a press conference in Hollywood. Diamond Dave's return to the VH fold has been rumoured for quite some time. As far back as a year ago there were rumblings of a summer '07 tour planned for outdoor venues and amphitheatres. That proposed summer tour was abruptly scuttled this March when guitarist Eddie Van Halen cancelled a Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame appearance, instead opting to head to rehab for a clean-out.
Long-suffering Van Halen fans have had a quite a wait for DLR's reunion with the band. Roth was the band's singer from 1972 to 1985 (also known as their "good" period). Except for a brief flirtation with Roth in '96, the Halen have made do ever since with the passable Sammy Hagar and laughable Gary Cherone as replacements.
It's also expected that longtime bassist Michael Anthony won't be part of the reunion, having been ousted by Wolfgang Van Halen, the son of Eddie.
