Indie Folk-Rockers Cover Madonna On Tribute Album

Indie acts including Giant Drag, Devendra Banhart and Lavender Diamond contributed to a Madonna tribute album titled Through The Wilderness that's set for a Sept. 4 release via Manimal Vinyl.

The album features a folk-heavy indie lineup covering 18 Madonna songs. The CD version also features a megamix from Doctor Awesome (The Locust's Gabe Serbian).Twenty-five per cent of the album's profits will be donated to Raising Malawi, Madonna's organization that helps HIV/AIDS orphans in Malawi, Africa, the country where she adopted a young boy from last year.
