New Releases: Pumpkins To Make Smashing Return?

It's been a few (or many, depending on your perspective) years since Billy Corgan's been relevant, so the erstwhile prince of whatever has decided to resurrect his most successful band, The Smashing Pumpkins. Or rather he's decided to bring back the group name and resurrect his career and that of drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, because there's no James Iha or D'arcy Wretzky on the grunge superstars' latest album, Zeitgeist, which comes out Tuesday.
Speaking of erstwhile, it's been three years since Interpol have made a peep, but they're back with Our Love To Admire. Fans of the band's gloomy rock sound will likely find plenty to love in the record's 11 tracks. And if you listen hard enough, you might even extract the meaning of the bizarro video for "The Heinrich Maneuver." But probably not. That thing's more cryptic than The Sopranos finale.
What the hell? Is July 10 the biggest July release date ever? It appears that way, as there's also Spoon's new Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga. I don't really know what Britt Daniel and company were thinking with that title, but the record is pure Spoon-crafted indie pop — a little more Kill The Moonlight, a little less Gimme Fiction.
And finally, there's the most anticipated release (of this week, by me), Gogol Bordello's Super Taranta! You might remember Eugene Hutz from his film role in Everything Is Illuminated, but you probably know him better from his insane performance with Madonna at the close of London, England's leg of Live Earth. If you need a fix of gypsy punk party, Super Taranta! is it.
