Fergie is denying widespread reports that she'll receive $4 million U.S. to include promotional references for Candie's assortment of fashions, shoes and fragrances for young women in her songs.
In an NME.com article, a spokesperson for the Black Eyed Peas singer said: "There is absolutely no truth in the media reports that Fergie has agreed to product placement in her songs. She does have a commercial deal with the clothing brand Candie's, but it has nothing whatsoever to do with the creation of her music."
While Fergie is featured prominently on the home page of Candie's website, and a link to her site can also be found there, the manufacturer insists that the pop star's role in their marketing campaign doesn't go beyond common practice in such arrangements.
"Contrary to recent false reports in the media, the Company does not have any arrangement with Fergie whereby she will incorporate the Candie's brand into her lyrics," said a statement.
