Dave Gahan Races Against Time With Hourglass

The sand is falling to mark down the time until late October when Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan will release his second solo album, Hourglass.
The Mute follow-up to 2003's Paper Monsters was written and produced by Gahan at his 11th Floor Studios in New York City with drummer Christian Eigner and guitarist/bassist Andrew Phillpott of Depeche Mode's touring band. Tony Hoffer (Beck, The Fratellis) will mix the album this month.
"Christian plays drums and Andrew can easily find his way around bass and guitar, and then we're basically cutting all this stuff up and fucking with it by using ProTools, effects and all kinds of stuff," says Gahan of the electronic-influenced album, which carries a theme of running out of time. "Accidents do happen, and they're good."
Neither a specific release date nor an official track list have been announced, but songs confirmed for Hourglass include "Saw Something," "Use You," "Endless," "21 Days," "A Little Lie," "Deeper And Deeper," "Love Will Leave," "Down," "Miracles," "Tomorrow" and "Kingdom."
Gahan's tour for Paper Monsters was captured on the 2004 DVD, Live Monsters. No dates have been announced in support of Hourglass.
