Foo Fighters Guitarist Chris Shiflett Steps Into The Ring

Foo Fighter Chris Shiflett is going to box as part of the Rumble In The Valley card in Los Angeles on Saturday.
The guitarist will be involved in the opening bout for two other matches. Shiflett's fight will be three rounds, if he can last that long.
"Arrive early to see Chris get walloped by a construction worker from Pacoima," says the band's website.
Shiflett shed some light on his pugilistic endeavours in an interview with Kerrang! a few years ago.
"You're not going out there to kill each other — just to have fun with it. And I've had a couple more fights since then. Actually, I had an amateur fight set up, and I got my ass kicked. The guy just beat the hell out of me."
Foo Fighters are working on new material with producer Gil Norton, but there's no word on when a new album will be released.
The Colour And The Shape will be reissued on July 10. The 10th anniversary edition of the band's breakthrough album will come with a bonus CD featuring six previously released B-sides: "The Colour And The Shape," "Dear Lover" and covers of Vanity 6's "Drive Me Wild," Killing Joke's "Requiem," Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street" and Gary Numan's "Down In The Street."
The group will perform in London, England as part of the global Live Earth series of concerts on July 7. They've played a few shows in 2007, including supporting The Police in Los Angeles earlier in June.
