The Used have cancelled their June and July shows after lead singer Bert McCracken was told that he needed throat surgery.
The frontman developed a node on one of his vocal chords, which will keep him from singing for roughly the next five weeks. This has forced the band to step back from the Vans Warped Tour, including the July 3 stop in Vancouver and the July 5 show in Calgary. The announcement was made on the band's website on Wednesday.
"Kevin Lyman and the Vans Warped Tour have been amazing supporters of our band and we are truly saddened that we won't be able to perform on this year's tour," said guitarist Quinn Allman.
The Used performed at the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto earlier this month and they've been touring in support of their latest release, Lies For The Liars. McCracken is expected to make a full recovery and the band plan to play some headlining shows in the U.S. in early September.
