The Dresden Dolls Captured Live On New DVD

The Dresden Dolls

If you didn't catch The Dresden Dolls as part of this summer's True Colors tour, you can still get an idea of what the Boston act's cabaret punk show is all about through The Dresden Dolls — Live At The Roundhouse, London.

The 134-minute Eagle Vision DVD, recorded at London, England's recently restored Roundhouse Theatre, will hit stores on July 10.

The theatrical duo of singer/pianist Amanda Palmer and guitarist/drummer Brian Viglione are occasionally joined onstage by an international cast of performance artists and dancers to add even more of a vaudevillian flavour to their performance. Sadly, none of them light their penis on fire, as a man did during a Toronto show last year — and which Palmer recounts in the July/August issue of Chart.

The DVD also features a 26-minute documentary that looks behind the scenes at what goes into creating the Dolls' elaborate performances.
