New Silverstein Album Arrives Just In Time For Them To Depart On Tour

Burlington, Ont. emo-punk band Silverstein will cross Canada as part of a North American tour in support of their third full-length release, Arrivals & Departures, which arrives on July 3 through Victory Records.

Arrivals & Departures was produced by Mark Trombino (Jimmy Eat World, Blink-182). The band's website features a photo blog of the recording process.

Lead single "If You Could See Into My Soul" and "Sound Of The Sun" are featured on the band's MySpace page, while additional songs can be previewed on MuchMusic.com.

After releasing two EPs early this decade, Silverstein signed with Victory and sold more than 200,000 copies of their When Broken Is Easily Fixed label debut. Its successor, Discovering The Waterfront, performed even better.

Singer Shane Told ended a seven-year relationship just before starting work on Arrivals & Departures, which he calls the most personal record he's ever made.

"Sometimes it's hard for me to go back and listen to some of the songs, because the feelings behind them are still unsettling to me. But at the same time, I wanted to convey a message of hope through the record, in that no matter what happens, you can still get through the tough times, get better and be happy."

"This is the most important moment in Silverstein history and everything is just going to continue getting better this year," says drummer Paul Koehler on the group's website. "We urge everyone to come see us this summer to check out the new songs live, pick up our new album, and hang out with us."
