Billy Talent Win Three MuchMusic Video Awards

Billy Talent won 60 per cent of the prizes they were nominated for at Sunday night's MuchMusic Video Awards, with "Fallen Leaves" taking honours for best video and rock video and the band capturing the people's choice award for favourite Canadian group.
The Toronto hard rock band performed on the show, as did Avril Lavigne, who closed the night off with a performance of "Girlfriend" after that song's clip was named best international video by a Canadian and she was voted favourite Canadian artist in the people's choice sweepstakes. The other two-time winners were My Chemical Romance, who took the favourite international group people's choice award and whose "Welcome To The Black Parade" was chosen as best international video by a band.
Finger Eleven performed on the roof of Much headquarters amidst a fireworks display, while Fergie, Hilary Duff, Alexisonfire, Maroon 5, Belly and The Used also took one of the handful of stages situated in and around the environment, where 6,000 fans gathered to scream for their favourites.
In the party tent, bad beer and wine and passable food were served, New York Rangers forward Sean Avery was touting what he called the "hottest mother and daughter tandem around," three members of Hedley were toting a male blow-up doll in place of singer Jacob Hoggard, Jack Layton and Olivia Chow were canvassing votes from Tokyo Police Club, Toronto Raptor Chris Bosh was two feet taller than his date and former sprint champion Ben Johnson was only permitting his photograph to be taken if a woman was standing beside him.
If, like everyone who attended, you missed the show, it will be aired again on Much on Monday at 7 p.m., on June 21 at 7 p.m. and on June 23 at 9 p.m. MusiquePlus will rebroadcast it at 8 p.m. on June 30, at noon on July 1 and at 6 p.m. on July 2.
