Iron And Wine Introduce The Shepherd's Dog With "Boy With A Coin"

The Shepherd's Dog will be let loose by Iron And Wine and Sub Pop on Sept. 25.
Lead single "Boy With A Coin," backed with non-album tracks "Carried Home" and "Kingdom Of The Animals," will be released on July 10.
Iron And Wine is the moniker used by alt.folk artist Sam Beam, who has previously released two full-length albums and four EPs, contributed to the In Good Company and Garden State soundtracks and collaborated with Calexico on the 2005 EP, In The Reins. Calexico's Joey Burns and Paul Niehaus guest on "Wolves (Song Of The Shepherd's Dog)," while Califone's Brian Deck and Tin Hat Trio accordionist Rob Burger also contributed to the follow-up to 2004's Our Endless Numbered Days.
Iron And Wine will play the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago on July 14 and there are plans to tour North America and Europe for two months following the release of The Shepherd's Dog.
