Paris Hilton Now Serving Her Sentence At Home

Your "Free Paris" protests can now end. Paris Hilton was released from jail early Thursday morning for what a detention centre spokesperson called a medical reason.

The celebutante served just three days in California's Century Regional Detention Center before being released and put under house arrest with an electronic monitoring bracelet. Hilton was sentenced on May 4 to 45 days in jail for driving with a suspended licence, but that was reduced to 23 days for expected good behaviour. She'll now have to remain in her home for 40 days.

Hilton's psychiatrist, Dr. Charles Sophy, had visited her in the two days before her release, but the starlet's medical problem hasn't been divulged.

The 26-year-old served her time in a small isolation cell for her own safety, and the New York Daily News reported that she had complained of being cold, bored, sleepless and hungry while in custody.

Since Hilton served such a short time behind bars, her plan to rake in even more cash by selling her exclusive tale of woe probably won't be as lucrative as she had hoped. But at least now she'll be able to forego prison garb and search through her wardrobe to come up with outfits that look hot with a monitoring bracelet.
