Ra Ra Riot Drummer John Pike Found Dead In Water After Party

The body of John Pike, drummer for Ra Ra Riot, was found in two metres of water in Buzzards Bay, Mass. on Sunday afternoon.
The band had played a show in Providence, Rhode Island on Friday night and attended a party afterward in Fairhaven, Mass. Pike was last seen leaving the party around 3 a.m. and, when he didn't turn up during the day, a search party set out to look for him.
The 23-year-old's cell phone was spotted on a nearby beach less than a kilometre from where the party took place, and searchers then started dredging the bay. A short time later, his body was found in the water about 200 metres away from where the phone was discovered. No foul play is suspected, a band spokesperson told Spin.com.
Ra Ra Riot formed at Syracuse University early last year and self-released an eponymous EP earlier this year. The alternative pop sextet was scheduled to play a U.S. tour with Toronto's Tokyo Police Club in July and August. There's no word yet how Pike's death will affect the group's future.
A message beside Pike's picture on Ra Ra Riot's MySpace page says: "we will always love and miss you, John."
