The Challenge Begins On Aug. 21 For New Pornographers

The New Pornographers' Challengers will feature 12 tracks when it arrives in stores on Aug. 21.

Carl Newman wrote nine songs, while Dan Bejar was responsible for "Myriad Harbour," "Entering White Cecilia" and "The Spirit of Giving." The record includes the Vancouver band's longest song ever, "Unguided," which checks in at well over six minutes.

Newman, Bejar, Neko Case and Kathryn Calder share vocal duties on the record, which was recorded in Vancouver and Brooklyn, New York.

The Pornographers will play three shows in the U.K. this month and will perform in New York City on July 4 and Chicago on July 14. A full tour is expected following the album's release.
