Songs from Yellowcard's third album, Paper Walls, will be previewed during a number of appearances by the Jacksonville, Florida band on this summer's Vans Warped Tour.
The follow-up to 2003's gold-certified Ocean Avenue and last year's Lights And Sounds will be released by Capitol on July 17. Producer Neal Avron (Fall Out Boy, New Found Glory), who was at the controls for the first two records, oversaw Paper Walls as well. The album marks the recording debut of guitarist Ryan Mendez, who replaced founding member Ben Harper (no, not that Ben Harper) during the Lights And Sounds tour.
"This album is the sound of five musicians in a room having a great time and writing the music that we love," says singer Ryan Key, who has now recovered from major vocal surgery that sidelined him for a significant amount of time. "We feel like the luckiest guys in the world to be able to do this"
Lead single "Light Up The Sky" and "Fighting" are available on Yellowcard's MySpace page.
The album will come in a regular version and a deluxe edition featuring a DVD with behind-the-scenes footage of the band, a photo gallery and two live tracks.
The violin-toting rockers will play 14 stops on the Warped Tour, including the July 3 show at Vancouver's Thunderbird Stadium and the July 5 gig at Calgary's Race City Speedway.
Here are the songs on Paper Walls:
