Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation Coming In Deluxe Edition

Sonic Youth

Daydream Nation, the 1988 album that many people consider to be Sonic Youth's crowning achievement, will be released in a two-CD, four-LP deluxe edition on June 12.

The first disc will feature a remastered version of the original album and a home demo recording of "Eric's Trip." The second will include live versions of every song on Daydream Nation recorded at various venues as well as studio-recorded covers of The Beatles' "Within You, Without You," Neil Young's "Computer Age," Captain Beefheart's "Electricity" and Mudhoney's "Touch Me, I'm Sick." There will also be new liner notes and previously unseen photos.

Geffen will issue the CD version, while the band's own Goofin' label will oversee the vinyl. Daydream Nation was originally released as a two-LP set.

Sonic Youth will perform all of Daydream Nation at several select shows in the U.S. and Europe this year, but unfortunately not in Canada.
