Goldfinger Delay Releasing Finished Album Until Next Year

Los Angeles pop-punk band Goldfinger have finished their new album, but it won't be out until 2008.
They planned to release it this year, but guitarist Charlie Paulson wrote in a lengthy post on the group's MySpace page that they've been "hit by a landslide of bullshit and bad news."
This bad news includes lead singer/guitarist John Feldman injuring his knee, which will sideline him for a while.
"We did a short west coast tour last year at which time John tore up his knee really bad," Paulson wrote. "He had surgery and it started to heal when, against medical advice we went over to the U.K. where he ripped it open again (see what this man will do to entertain you fuckers?)."
Feldman's infant son also had some health concerns, but is currently doing well.
The band released their previous album, Disconnection Notice, in 2005. They're recording a digital EP featuring two new songs that will only be available through iTunes as a stop-gap measure until the full-length is out and they can tour in support of it. Paulson is involved with another project called Black President featuring members of Bad Religion and Guttermouth that he describes as "real old-school punk rock." Black President have a handful of dates planned for California in August and have posted a few songs on their MySpace page. Bassist Kelly Lemieux is in a group called Apes Of The New Millennium that also features The Dickies' guitarist Dave Teague.
Drummer Darrin Pfeiffer has been in Toronto for the last year launching his High 4 Records label, hosting a show on The Edge 102.1, writing video game reviews for Chart, and cruising the left side of the ice for the ChartAttack Hack hockey team.
