Metric Working On Next Album In Their New Studio

Metric have begun work on the follow-up to 2005's gold-certified Live It Out album.
Writing and recording sessions are taking place in a Toronto studio purchased by band members Emily Haines and James Shaw, along with former Death From Above 1979 member Sebastien Grainger.
Haines told England's NME that they've written about 15 songs and are starting to choose their favourites. The album should be out early next year, but, whatever the release date is, Haines said it will "definitely have a summer atmosphere."
Metric plan to showcase some of their new repertoire in upcoming performances.
"We're doing a few shows in that'll be strictly new material," Haines said. "We'll play eight new songs and then an encore."
Here are Metric's upcoming Canadian dates:
May 14-16 Edmonton, AB @ Starlite
May 17 Calgary, AB @ The Whisky
May 19 Victoria, BC @ Curling Club
May 21 Vancouver, BC @ Thunderbird Stadium (Virgin Festival)
Sept. 9 Toronto, ON @ Toronto Island (Virgin Festival)
