The Beastie Boys have released the track list for their new "instrumental" album, The Mix-Up.

According to a May 1 message sent to members of the trio's fan club, the 12-track record will be released sometime in June and feature the band playing instruments instead of relying on samplers for beats and grooves.

Although little is known about the songs, Mike D said the album is "rock-oriented" and has more in common with earlier records Check Your Head and Paul's Boutique than the previous To The 5 Boroughs, which was released in 2004.

The Beasties, who are expected to release another new studio album later this year, will play a series of European shows this summer, including a few exclusive instrumental shows in Lisbon, Portugal, Paris, France and Berlin and Cologne in Germany in June. They're also confirmed to perform at London, England's Wembley Stadium as part of the Live Earth concert on July 7.

No Canadian dates have been announced so far, but the band say that more North American shows will be announced.

The Beasties will perform at the Sasquatch Music Festival in Quincy, Washington from May 26 to 27 and at the Virgin Festival set for Baltimore, Maryland's Pimlico Race Track on Aug. 4. The band played Toronto's Air Canada Centre in 2004 in support of To The 5 Boroughs.

Here are the tracks on The Mix-Up:

"B For My Name"
"14th St. Break"
"Suco De Tangerina"
"The Gala Event"
"Electric Worm"
"Freaky Hijiki"
"Off The Grid"
"The Rat Cage"
