White Stripes To Play Every Province And Territory In Canada

When ChartAttack last checked in with eccentric blues-rock duo The White Stripes, the band promised that they would play in every Canadian province and territory to promote their forthcoming Icky Thump album. It looks like Jack and Meg White are true to their word, as they'll play places this summer that most bands haven't even heard of.
"Having never done a full tour of Canada, Meg and I thought it was high time to go the whole hog," Jack wrote on the band's website on Wednesday. "We want to take this tour to the far reaches of the Canadian landscape. From the ocean to the permafrost."
Expect a little extra celebration in Glace Bay, N.S. on July 14, when The White Stripes will mark their 10th anniversary.
Following their Canadian adventures, the duo will play in 16 American states they've never performed in as part of their U.S. tour.
The new album's title track first single went to radio on Wednesday and was put up for sale exclusively through iTunes at midnight on Thursday. Jack White will continue to work on the second album by his other band, The Raconteurs, before the Stripes head to Europe for five shows starting on June 1.
