Great Aunt Ida Playing Across Canada Through May

Great Aunt Ida

Vancouver's Great Aunt Ida are set to embark on their first coast to coast tour in support of their second album, How They Fly.

The Ida Nilsen-fronted group have toured Canada before, but this will be the first that touches both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. The routing will go from west to east and back again. Nilsen recently finished playing several Ontario shows with The Violet Archers, former Rheostatic Tim Vesely's current project.

Nilsen co-wrote "Sustain" with Mike Scott for the new Waterboys album, Book Of Lightning. Scott flew to Vancouver last June to record the song with Nilsen and bandmates Barry Mirochnick (drums) and Annie Wilkinson (bass).
