Members of veteran Montreal metal group Voivod have a full agenda this year, both individually and collectively.
Drummer Michel "Away" Langevin outlined what's going on in an email sent by the group's label, The End Records, on Tuesday. Some of his animation work appears in the recently finished video for "Polaroids," while he's now started on the clip for "The X-Stream." Both songs are from the band's 14th album, Katorz, which was released last summer.
Voivod will record a new album in the fall, while Langevin is almost finished work on a reissue of their 1986 Rrroooaaarrr LP. It should come out in the fall via Sanctuary with a bonus DVD featuring archival material from that era.
Reissues of The Outer Limits and Angel Rat are in the works for The End, while Sanctuary will reissue Killing Technology and Dimension Hatross along with bonus DVDs. DVOD 2 and DVOD 3 are coming along, too, according to the email.
Langevin has completed an art book featuring 325 Voivod-related drawings and covers from the past 30 years. Troubleman Unlimited will publish it, but there's no launch date yet.
Les Ekorches, Langevin's "acoustic hardcore" band, released a self-titled album through Indica in February. The disc was produced by Glen Robinson (Gwar, Bionic, Annihilator). The drummer has another project called Kosmos, which he says should have an album out through The End before the end of the year. "Psycho," "Dream" and "Messe Noire" can be heard on the prog rock band's MySpace page.
Voivod vocalist Denis "Snake" Belanger has another band called Paranoland that has a Robinson-produced disc on the way.
