After cycling across Canada and taking over the internet with his home-made video for his "Cigarette" single, Jeremy Fisher has signed a worldwide record deal.
The Vancouver-based singer/songwriter has hooked up with Wind-up Records (Evanescence, Strata, Finger Eleven), which will release his Goodbye Blue Monday album in the U.S. on Aug. 28. Fisher remains with Aquarius Records, which released the Hawksley Workman-produced LP last month, in Canada.
"I feel better than ever about making music and art and videos, getting more involved with every aspect of my career," says Fisher. "Signing with independently minded label Wind-up Records is really exciting because I'll have the chance to work with truly interesting people to get my music heard in other parts of the world."
Fisher first burst onto the seen in 2001 with his independently released Back Porch Spirituals debut. He signed with Sony Music Canada in 2004 and departed last year after one album.
Fisher has half-a-dozen Canadian performances scheduled through the spring and summer before he turns his attention southward to start promoting Goodbye Blue Monday. You can see him here:
