Caribou Invites You To Andorra

Caribou

Dan Snaith hasn't received any lawsuits from members of the deer family, so he'll release the second album under his Caribou alias on Aug. 21.

Andorra will be Caribou's first release for Merge, which recently signed the artist to a North American deal. City Slang will release the album, which shares a name with a tiny mountainous country wedged between Spain and France, in Europe.

Caribou released The Milk Of Human Kindness in 2005 after previously putting out two albums under the name Manitoba. Snaith changed the moniker after being sued by Dictators frontman Handsome Dick Manitoba for trademark infringement. Bonus tracks were added to the two Manitoba records when they were reissued as Caribou LPs by Domino last June.

Snaith wrote, produced and played everything on Andorra except for "She's The One." Junior Boy Jeremy Greenspan co-wrote the song and also sings on it.

"I'm super happy with the way the album has turned out," Snaith wrote on his website on Wednesday. "I've put seemingly endless hours into it over the last year or so getting everything exactly as I wanted it and have never been this madly excited about my music."

Snaith and a band are expected to launch a North American tour in support of Andorra in September.

Here are the songs on Andorra:

"Melody Day"
"Sandy"
"After Hours"
"She's The One"
"Desiree"
"Eli"
"Sundialing"
"Irene"
"Niobe"
