Smashing Pumpkins To Headline Montreal's Second Osheaga Festival

MONTREAL — Last year's Labour Day shindig in Montreal, the Osheaga Music And Arts Festival, was such a grand ol' time that organizers have decided that a repeat is in order.
The newly and partially reunited Smashing Pumpkins will headline the outdoor fest, taking place at Jean Drapeau Park on Sept. 8 and 9. Other artists already scheduled to perform are the locally connected Stars, Sam Roberts and Xavier Cafeine, along with Placebo, Amy Winehouse, Peter, Bjorn & John and Scottish singer/songwriter Paolo Nutini.
The Montreal Electronic Groove festival, which held its eighth edition last September, will have its own stage at Osheaga featuring indie poppers Au Revoir Simone, French rockers Adam Kesher and tri-national (Swedish, German and French) songwriter Peter Von Poehl.
More bands will be added as we approach September, and tickets don't officially go on sale until Saturday at noon. But entrance to the festival can be purchased online right now for $150 through the Osheaga website.
